聖若望福音　19:31-37

猶太人因那日子是預備日，免得安息日內——那安息日原是個大節日——屍首留在十字架上，就來請求比拉多打斷耶穌和與他同釘的兩個人的腿，把他們拿去。兵士遂前來，把第一個人的，並與耶穌同釘在十字架上的第二個人的腿打斷了。可是，及至來到耶穌跟前，看見他已經死了，就沒有打斷他的腿；但是，有一個兵士用槍刺透了他的肋旁，立時流出了血和水。那看見這事的人就作證，而他的見證是真實的；並且「那位」知道他所說的是真實的，為叫你們也相信。這些事發生，正應驗了經上的話說：『不可將他的骨頭打斷。』經上另有一句說：『他們要瞻望他們所刺透的。』

歐瑟亞先知書　11:1,3-4,8-9

上主這樣說：當以色列尚在童年時，我就愛了他；從在埃及時，我就召他為我的兒子。

是我教了厄弗辣因邁步，雙臂抱著他們，但他們卻不理會是我照顧了他們。是我用仁慈的繩索，愛情的帶子牽著他們，我對他們有如高舉嬰兒到自己面頰的慈親，俯身餵養他們。

我的心已轉變，我的五內已感動；我不再按我的盛怒行事，不再毀滅厄弗辣因，因為我是天主而不是人，是在你中間的聖者，而不是伏於城門的仇敵。

致厄弗所人書　3:8-12,14-19

弟兄們：我原是一切聖徒中最小的，竟蒙受了這恩寵，得向外邦宣佈基督那不可測量的豐富福音，並光照一切人，使他們明白，從創世以來，即隱藏在創造萬有的天主內的奧祕，為使天上的率領者和掌權者，現在藉著教會，得知天主的各樣智慧，全是按照他在我們的主基督耶穌內所實現的永遠計畫；所以只有在基督內，我們才可藉著對他所懷的信德，放心大膽地懷著依恃之心，進到天主面前。

因此，我在天父面前屈膝——上天下地的一切家族都是由他而得名——求他依照他豐富的光榮，藉著他的聖神，以大能堅固你們的內心，並使基督因著你們的信德，住在你們心中，叫你們在愛德上根深蒂固，奠定基礎，為使你們能夠同眾聖徒領悟基督的愛是怎樣的廣、寬、高、深，並知道基督的愛是遠超人所能知的，為叫你們充滿天主的一切富裕。

天主聖神請來，以大能堅固我的內心，讓我有足夠的信德，接受耶穌住在我的心中。

今天我們敬禮耶穌聖心，也願我能謙遜地委順在耶穌聖心之中。

Gospel
Jn 19:31-37

Since it was preparation day,
in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath,
for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one,
the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken
and they be taken down.
So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first
and then of the other one who was crucified with Jesus.
But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead,
they did not break his legs,
but one soldier thrust his lance into his side,
and immediately blood and water flowed out.
An eyewitness has testified, and his testimony is true;
he knows that he is speaking the truth,
so that you also may come to believe.
For this happened so that the Scripture passage might be fulfilled:
Not a bone of it will be broken.
And again another passage says:
They will look upon him whom they have pierced.

Reading 1
Hos 11:1, 3-4, 8c-9

Thus says the LORD:
When Israel was a child I loved him,
out of Egypt I called my son.
Yet it was I who taught Ephraim to walk,
who took them in my arms;
I drew them with human cords,
with bands of love;
I fostered them like one
who raises an infant to his cheeks;
Yet, though I stooped to feed my child,
they did not know that I was their healer.

My heart is overwhelmed,
my pity is stirred.
I will not give vent to my blazing anger,
I will not destroy Ephraim again;
For I am God and not a man,
the Holy One present among you;
I will not let the flames consume you.

Reading II
Eph 3:8-12, 14-19

Brothers and sisters:
To me, the very least of all the holy ones, this grace was given,
to preach to the Gentiles the inscrutable riches of Christ,
and to bring to light for all what is the plan of the mystery
hidden from ages past in God who created all things,
so that the manifold wisdom of God
might now be made known through the church
to the principalities and authorities in the heavens.
This was according to the eternal purpose
that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord,
in whom we have boldness of speech
and confidence of access through faith in him.

For this reason I kneel before the Father,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
that he may grant you in accord with the riches of his glory
to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner self,
and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
that you, rooted and grounded in love,
may have strength to comprehend with all the holy ones
what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,
so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
